- What did you learn about writing for a) different audiences, b) writing in different genres, and c) researching a topic this semester?
A) What I learned about writing for different audiences, is that their attention span or willingness to pay attention to topics that are not their strong suit varies drastically. When dealing with varying audiences the manner in which the topic is approached is one of the most important things.

B) For writing in differences genres, I mainly chose to write in a informative yet persuasive manner that challenges a preconceived notion, although when writing blog posts I found myself writing more informally and blunt. Depending on the diction used in the writing the audience reaction and response varies accordingly, If i were to begin writing as an informative piece and then somewhere along the line become more passionate and aggravated within the context, then my genre has switched and my reader may interpret me as someone with less credibility than initially assumped
C) For researching a topic, I didn’t really learn all that much because I had already been so familiar with how to research and especially how to research on a time crunch through debate in my highschool years so, I didn’t really learn much there. Besides filtering through more research papers than usual and becoming familiar with their structure
- Which assignments or experiences triggered these “lightbulb moments” for you?
A: The assignments that triggered these lightbulb moments for me were the assignment 2 draft, the raw data assignment and the blog posts. The main assignment served as a channel for the forefront of my thoughts while in the Raw data assignment I could see it coming together before my eyes with proper evidence and support, then in the blog posts I compiled it all together and became even more certain of my process.
- How did these learning experiences transform your understanding of effective communication?

A) These learning experiences transformed my understanding because, at least on the basis of my topic I was at a much different understanding than I am now, and because of that, the communication that must coincide with the topic, must be exceptional because of the nature of the topic. It is only through effective
communication and understanding can people begin to accept one another
